Call me Kate. I write stories and poetry. I love words and how they are doorways to new worlds and understanding.
I live in Lexington, Kentucky, a city I fell in love with as a child, with my thoroughbred event horse and two destructive cats, collectively referred to as 'TnT.'
I lead "Poezia" (Bulgarian word for poetry), a workshop that welcomes all poets, and am a contributing attendee of the Zenith Fiction Workshop.
I'm a member of the Lexington Writer's Room and a graduate of Murray State University's MFA in Creative Writing.
My poetry has appeared in the following journals:
Border Crossing: “A Study of a Pin”
Cider Press Review: “Thirty-Three and a Third Revolutions”
Still: The Journal: “A Study of Route 62,” “A Study of Train Tracks,” “A Study of Chores,” “A Study of a Dream,” and “A Study of a Summer’s End”
The Heartland Review: “The Apothecary of Color”
Also, “At the End, Soft” appeared in Undead: Poetry Anthology of Ghosts, Ghouls, and More, published by Apex Publications.
